Our programme during this walking/sailing week

Embarkation

Depending on whether you come by ferry or by plane, the time of embarkation will be different.

You are welcome on board from 5pm in the afternoon and can settle in peacefully. We will provide dinner on board. Those coming by Ferry from Denmark will only arrive at T/S Saeftinghe around midnight.

The programme

During breakfast the next day, we will check what the options are for the group and have a nice view of the meteo. Depending on the last, we leave on Monday around noon or plan a visit to the capital Thorshavn.

Because we are flexible, the meteo is very changeable and participants' interests are not yet known, we do not work with a fixed programme but fill the week with activities/places depending on the above. Our aim is to immerse each participant in the culture, nature and nautical happenings of the Faroe Islands, out of the ordinary!

We take care to berth in a port or anchor in a bay daily. If the meteo gets too bad during the week or we expect uncomfortable weather, we stay in port. The captain and crew are always the best people to judge this.

By Friday or Saturday we will arrive back in Thorshavn.

Disembarkation

People coming by ferry should disembark at T/S Saeftinghe on Saturday evening to take the Ferry to Denmark in time (10.30pm). Participants coming by plane can disembark Sunday morning after breakfast (10.00 am).

For whom is this intended?

Are you an experienced sailor or is it your first time aboard a sailing vessel? A family looking for something different, out of the ordinary?

Then you are in the right place at Arruno Exploration!

The captain and crew will take you into the story of T/S Saeftinghe, adapted to your level. Before and during our trips, we provide the necessary explanations!

Making sea miles is not the main focus during this walking/sailing week, T/S Saeftinghe is used as a means of transport and accommodation. Life on board certainly already adds a very special dimension to this trip.

We expect you to help keep life on board pleasant. Cooking, maintenance, etc. are done as a group. We expect everyone to do their bit. Together, we make sure everyone has a good time.

Furthermore, there is the possibility of hiking, going out, bird-watching or discovering the local finch culture. However, this does not always have to be done in groups.

This walking/sailing week includes some adventure and we expect a certain flexibility regarding the programme. Circumstances can change quickly.
