Due to the incident with Arruno, we unfortunately had to cancel the trip to sail Arruno back home. However, a good friend, the owner of Puffin Rock, was looking for someone to bring his yacht over to the Netherlands from A Coruna. A win-win was quickly found, with the crew we were going to sail Arruno back home with, we will now bring Puffin Rock to Scheveningen in 3 legs.

All along the Breton and Normandy coasts...

The last part of the route is intended for shorter trips. Mainly we do daytrips along the many idyllic harbours and anchorages of Brittany and Normandy. As we pass the Channel Islands, a stop is also planned here.

Daytrips also mean that there will probably be sailed every day, possibly, depending on the time, the stops and the meteo, we will also have to make a nighttrip. As a team, we can all consider this together.

Which intermediate stops we take, where we stay, does not immediately play a significant role, after 10 days we are expected at the Belgian coast.

Challenging on these coasts are the currents, tides and rocks. The currents and tides will mainly determine our departure and arrival times. A tide of up to 14 metres ensures that approaching and leaving ports are limited in time. Sea currents, from a few knots to 7 knots at the Race of Alderney, are impressive and can be to your advantage at any time.

When we are in a harbour almost every day it also means that we can enjoy the local specialities, enjoy the scenery, enjoy that glass of wine (or something else) or the "fruit de mer", enjoy a walk. "Inspire" in its full form.

Some practical details:
  • This leg is sailed with Puffin Rock
  • L'Aber Wrac'h is accessible by TGV and taxi, there is a direct connection from Paris.
  • We respect the region of the starting point but it can differ slightly from the intended port.
  • We spend the night in ports as well as at anchor if the situation permits.
  • As we are regularly ashore, we can also arrange our shopping in this way. We don't need to take everything with us from day one.
