Our programme during this trip

Embarkation

T/S Saeftinghe will be waiting for you in Ålesund, Norway. Embarkation is scheduled on Saturday 19 September 2026 from 17:00 onwards. You can choose to sail the entire 3-week journey to Tromsø, or join for one or several weeks. For participants joining shorter legs, the exact embarkation and disembarkation ports will be confirmed a few days in advance, depending on our route and the weather conditions.

Our Program

This autumn sailing trip takes us from Ålesund to Tromsø, along fjords, islands and small fishing villages. As autumn sets in, the days grow shorter and the nights longer. The soft late-summer light gives way to dark skies – with a real chance of witnessing the first Northern Lights of the season. The route is divided into stages with day sails, depending on wind and weather. Along the way we combine sailing with anchorages in sheltered bays and visits to small harbours. You will experience the transition from summer to autumn in one of the most beautiful sailing areas in the world. Whether you join for a week or the full voyage, you will be part of the crew. You’ll help with sailing, navigation and daily life on board – a unique experience of teamwork and simplicity.

Disembarkation

The voyage ends in Tromsø, Norway, on Saturday morning 10 October 2026 for those sailing the entire journey. For participants joining only one or several weeks, the disembarkation port will be confirmed a few days in advance.

For whom is this trip suitable?

With our voyages, we aim to introduce beginners to sailing and the ocean on the one hand, and experienced sailors who want to do something different on the other. But of course, not every trip is the same... That's why we distinguish between heaviness and effort. That way you have an idea of what you can, should and should expect.

These voyages are open to everyone. We sail exclusively day passages, without overnight crossings. In the evenings we moor safely in a harbour or drop anchor in a quiet bay. The program remains flexible: in case of less favourable weather we look for an alternative together. Perfect for those who want to get acquainted with sailing, or simply enjoy a relaxed yet adventurous stay on board. One iceberg stands for low-threshold adventure, where discovery and enjoyment are at the heart of the experience.

  • Welcome on board
  • Accommodation on board based on 2 persons per room. A room consists of 2 single beds (bunk beds) with shared washroom.
  • Breakfast, Light lunch, Dinner
  • Water, coffee and tea à volonté
  • Performance captain and one crew member
  • Use of safety equipment
  • Use of the ship for the purposes described in the programme (mooring fees, fuel costs, maintenance, insurance,...)
  • Bed and bath linen
