Embarkation

The T/S Saeftinghe will be waiting for you in Ålesund. You will be notified of the exact berth a few days before departure.
Embarkation is scheduled for Saturday 6 June 2026 from 5.00 pm.

The programme

Experience the pure power of summer sailing along the south-west coast of Norway aboard the tall ship Saeftinghe. From Ålesund, we set course for Aarhus, crossing the open sea, islands and an ever-changing coastline. This is a true delivery voyage: 600 nautical miles in which progress, rhythm and life at sea take centre stage.

The long days and short nights allow us to sail on well into the evening, carried by constant winds and shifting weather systems. Every mile brings us not only closer to our destination, but also to the very essence of sailing itself.

Upon arrival in Aarhus, we immediately step into a completely different world. We arrive right in the middle of the first few days of the Tall Ships Races, where the harbour comes alive with international crews, impressive ships and a unique maritime atmosphere. As a participant, you’ll be fully immersed in this and experience first-hand what makes this iconic race so special.

Disembarkation

The voyage ends in Aarhus, Denmark, on 24/06/2026 after breakfast.

Who is this trip for?

Our trips are aimed at both beginners who want to learn everything about sailing and life at sea, and experienced sailors looking to try something different. But of course, not every trip is the same... That’s why we distinguish between different levels of difficulty and physical exertion. This gives you an idea of what you can, should and may expect.

This trip has a difficulty rating of 2 because there is a possibility that we may sail through the night on occasion.

Here, you embark on a true sailing adventure. We may plan crossings that can last a whole night. The trips require a bit more flexibility and perseverance, but they remain achievable for anyone open to new experiences. Two icebergs represent adventure with a touch of challenge.

What is included in Full Board?

• Welcome on board
• Accommodation on board based on 2 people per room. A room consists of 2 single beds (bunk beds) with a shared bathroom.
• Breakfast, light lunch, dinner
• Unlimited water, coffee and tea
• Services of the captain and one crew member
• Use of safety equipment
• Use of the vessel for the purposes described in the programme (mooring fees, fuel costs, maintenance, insurance, etc.)

What are the extras?

• Travel and accommodation costs other than those on board
• Transfers to or from the port of arrival or the port of departure
• Excursions not mentioned in the programme
• Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages
• Communication costs
• Appropriate clothing and footwear
• Costs for excursions, restaurants, etc., if these are not specifically mentioned in the programme.
