Arruno Exploration is the brainchild of Mike Celis,  an ambitious entrepreneur in care with a passion for sailing. Put entrepreneurship together with the passion for sailing and you get Arruno Exploration -  first a dream, then an idea and finally reality.

Fascinated by the ocean all his life, on a sailboat since he was six and happily married to Elly for 21 years. That's Mike. For him sailing is not a hobby, but a way of life.  Besides his great passion for sailing, Mike also enjoys travelling (mostly by sailboat), hiking, skiing and partaking in other outdoor activities - an active lifestyle in all its glory.

Arruno Exploration

With Arruno Exploration, Named after children Arne, Ruben and Noor, Arruno Exploration will go to unknown places to discover yourself. With more than 28 years of experience as a skipper and about 2,500 to 6,000 nautical miles a year on the counter, Mike and his yacht Arruno are a fixed value at sea.

The Arruno Exploration idea arose when Mike supervised teams during offshore sailing competitions and trips on the high seas. He saw that people in extreme circumstances are very much dependent on each other -- going through a valley together, seeing black snow together, but also enjoying it to the fullest together, with the same goal in mind. It lets people go right to the limit. Sailing at sea forces people to be vulnerable. You become a small part of a great whole, the largest wilderness on earth, the ocean. Such trips really revolve around connection, enrichment and experience.

If we link this idea to our current society, which is raging non-stop, you can see that people have increasingly a greater need to take the time sometimes to get things straight, to think for a moment, and get back to basics. And the ocean is the ideal backdrop for that. You see people who take time for themselves grow, both personally and professionally.

Sailing combines experiences: the openness of the ocean, the power and beauty of nature, the wind that brings you to your destination, freedom, bonding. You experience it all in a very intense way. You share the same goal on a sailboat and together look for solutions to achieve it. It is a unique way to get to know and learn from each other, and to discover yourself.
