After the successful version of Sailtraining for Students in 2023, there will be a continuation in 2024! The first edition took students from Thorshavn to Antwerp with T/S Saeftinghe in September 2023. A 1,100-mile sailing trip across the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea.
On September 7, 2024, T/S Saeftinghe together with T/S Rupel and 18 students from Antwerp Maritime Academy will depart Antwerp for an unforgettable sailing trip! By September 21, we will walk back into Antwerp. These dates represent more than just a calendar period; they mark the beginning of an extraordinary experience. Our voyage revolves around one crucial lesson: learning to work together.
Collaboration will be the backbone of our journey. As a close-knit group of 11 motivated students from the Antwerp Maritime Academy, we will be constantly challenged to work together in the dynamic environment of a sailing ship. It's not just a matter of learning how to hoist and navigate the sails, but also how to communicate effectively, join forces and take responsibility for safety, the well-being of the ship and the success of our voyage.
